Early Fire Hazard Properties – Flammability Testing of your product to Test Code: T18B
AS/NZS 1530.3-1999……..Simultaneous determination of Ignitability, Flame propagation, Heat release & Smoke release (Early Fire Hazard Properties)
Un spécimen monté verticalement est amené à une position de 850 mm en face d'un radiant. Toutes les 30 secondes, l'échantillon est rapproché de la source de chaleur en une série d'étapes. Si l'inflammation ne s'est pas produite après 12,5 minutes, l'échantillon reste à 175 mm du panneau pendant 7,5 minutes supplémentaires (soit une durée d'exposition totale maximale de 20 minutes) ou jusqu'à ce que l'inflammation se produise, selon ce qui se produit en premier.
Pendant l'exposition, une petite flamme pilote à gaz est maintenue à 15 mm devant l'échantillon. Cette flamme pilote enflamme les gaz combustibles émis, mais pas la surface de l'échantillon. Lorsque l'inflammation se produit, le mouvement vers l'avant est arrêté. Le temps moyen d'inflammation pour tous les échantillons, soustrait de 20, détermine l'indice d'IGNITABILITÉ.
During exposure a radiometer is used to measure the heat radiated from the specimen. There is a steady increase as the specimen moves towards the heat source, followed by a rapid increase at ignition.
The recorded radiometer output is later analysed to determine:
a) The rate of rise after ignition by measuring the time taken for the radiation to rise by 1.4 kW/m2 from its value prior to ignition; and
b) The area under the radiation curve for the next two minutes after ignition which is converted to a heat evolved value in kJ/m2.
The results of all specimens tested are averaged and the SPREAD OF FLAME INDEX and HEAT EVOLVED INDEX are determined from tables given in the standard.
Three supplementary tests are necessary if the results for the first six specimens fall outside prescribed limits of variability.
