The performance properties of your products relate directly to your end user requirements. It is well known that a satisfied client will not only return but is likely to spread the word.
Is what I ordered best for the application?
• What if the colour doesn’t last?
• Is the coating likely to crack and peel?
• How do I know if it’s water resistant?
• Does the material meet flammability requirements?
• How do I know that I get what I ordered?
All of these questions and more can be answered by AWTA Product Testing, we take the guess work out of decision making and assisting you to provide your clients with performance products.
The AWTA Product Testing is the largest textile testing laboratory registered in the National Association for Testing Authorities Limited (NATA).
We offer a range of tests for woven, knitted and coated fabrics, such as:
• Colourfastness and Weathering – QUV, Xenon Arc, Salt Exposure
• Water repellency – hydrostatic head, spray rating, water penetration
• Strength and Durability – tensile, grab, burst
• Specialist Coated Fabric tests – coating adhesion, blocking, flex cracking
• Flammability testing of upholstery and bedding per IMO requirements
• Formaldehyde, VOC, Heavy metal and PFAS content
By requiring your supplier to support their product sample with an appropriate report on its performance according to Australian Standard test methods, you can use the information to determine the suitability of the product to your end user requirements.
Once you have found the right product for the job and the order has been placed, only one step remains to eliminate that last question. Did I get what I ordered?
By selecting a random sample from your bulk order and conducting parallel tests to those conducted on the purchase sample - “it's simple” - you now know the performance properties of your product and as a consequence can conduct your business with confidence.
